Hawaii 1999In the very first congress of young generation was held in beautiful, friendly and breathtaking Hawaii. A beautiful peace garden created by the World Youth Congressers blessed by a Hawaiian priest. Delegates all around the world danced, sang and learnt the key word “Aloha” in Hawaii. In mentor day, everybody asked themselves who they are and waht they want from the world. These conversations lead the participants to the day of decisions and on this day, every delegate tried solve the world problems. Each country shared action plans and discussed the ideas and proposals.

Morocco 2003The congress question was “How can young people work most effectively with the United Nations to achieve the Millennium Development Goals?” Over the two weeks, 800 young people attended to speeches made by offical UN workers, evenings of dance and music from various cultures. Delegates divided in regional groups to discuss what should go into the Casablanca Declaration and elected regional representatives to the Casablanca drafting committee, which produced the written outcome of the Congress. Scotland 2005In Scotland the year of volunteering has been celebrating while the congress took place. The some of the main issues discussed during the entire congress were sense over sectarianism, the importance of languages for communication, importance of education, action projects...etc. The congresses key sentence was “be the change”

Quebec 2008In the beautiful city of Canada, over 600 people aged between 18-30, for 2 weeks, dicussed about the major issues of the world. The themes like, water and health, climate change, women development and human rights has been discussed in the workshops, conferences and roundtables. Action projects were presented and lots of cultural activities took place. The key word of the conference was “regeneration”
